PROCESSING
Subbase:
The subbase must be load bearing, to the most part dry, free from dust, cement-slurry, loose particles, oils, greases and other contaminations. If required, a proper pre-treatment of the subbase must be carried out. An extremely smooth and closed-pore surface requires mechanical roughening.
Mixing:
Mix components A (resin) + B (hardener) in the indicated correct mixing ratio by using a slowly running electric stirrer until the mixture is homogeneous. For mixing, pour component B completely into component A. During the stirring procedure, the homogeneous milky white mixture is thinned with tap water (1:1) and stirred until homogeneity is achieved.
Mixing ratio:
component A : component B 1:2 afterwards concentrate A+B : tap water 1:1
Consumption:
1st working procedure: 100 - 200 g/m2 ready mixed KOROPOX (A + B + water) (i.e. 50 - 100 g/m2 concentrate A + B + same quantity of water) 2nd working procedure: 50 - 150 g/m2 ready mixed KOROPOX (A + B + water) (25 - 75 g/m2 concentrate A + B + same quantity of water)
Processing:
In order to achieve a uniform wetting of the subbase, the first working procedure principally should be applied by brushing or floating. Give the material enough time to penetrate into the sub- base. Then remove excessive material with lambskin roll. Then, depending on the hardening process, when needed for intensifying, further working procedures can be done by using lamb-skin rolls, whereby the roll must be strongly pressed to the subbase.
When processing water-emulsifying epoxy resins it must be taken care for a good ventilation during processing and drying, i.e. that the air is repeatedly exchanged. Otherwise disturbances in reaction and drying through have to be expected. This would cause a differing gloss effect and hardness degree on the surface. When interrupting work, always clean working tools with water.
